Brad Pitt Turns His Attention To The Isle Of Man TT Race
Motorcycle fan - and actor - Channing Tatum is starring in the new film
Brad Pitt is equally as busy behind the scenes as he is in front of the camera. His next release is F1 which is a film he both produced and starred in which shot on location at nine Formula One tracks around the world. The man obviously has a thing for speed because he is currently producing a movie about the Isle of Man TT race. Pitt’s producing the film through his company, Plan B Entertainment, and Channing Tatum’s starring in it. Tatum’s a big motorcycle racing fan and has even attended the TT races before, so he’s a great fit for the role.
The upcoming film about the Isle of Man TT race doesn’t have an official title announced yet. It’s often referred to in reports as the “Isle of Man TT movie” or simply the “TT film” for now.
The movie focuses on the Isle of Man TT, this legendary motorcycle race that’s been running since 1907 on an island in the Irish Sea. Riders race on a 37-mile course of public roads, hitting speeds up to 200 mph. It’s incredibly intense but also dangerous—over 150 riders have lost their lives over the years, including five in 2022. They haven’t shared much about the plot yet, but it’ll dive into the high-stakes world of the TT.
There’s also a four-part docuseries called The Greatest Race on Earth that was filmed during the 2024 TT races. It gives a behind-the-scenes look at the riders and the event. It’s being produced by Plan B, Tatum’s company Free Association, and the team behind Drive to Survive, so it should be a great companion to the movie. Mediawan is distributing the series internationally.
The film’s being directed by Reid Carolin, who co-wrote the script with Jason Keller, known for Ford v Ferrari, and another writer, Bryan Johnson. Amazon MGM Studios is backing the project, which gives it some serious weight. They’re planning to start marketing it later in 2025, but there’s no official release date yet. Pitt’s focusing on producing here, not acting, especially since he’s also got that Formula 1 movie, F1, coming out in June 2025.
